Attorney General's "Triple C Award" & Philo4Thought College-Bound Young Scholars

A percentage of Philo4Thought's annual funding is dedicated to providing an assistive Foundation Scholarships to college-bound high school Juniors and Seniors who have overcome major financial or medical hardships while excelling at school (minimum cumulative GPA 3.5) and making meaningful contributions to the advancement and preservation of the Hellenic Community.

This academic scholarship is provided in conjunction with the Attorney General's "Triple C Award" in recognition of a student's Courage, Character & Commitment to Service despite his/her personal circumstances.
​
This combined award is indicative of a student's inspiring character, determination, ability to manage time, responsibility and his/her notable community service/leadership, The Triple C Award may improve a student's chances of getting into his/her first choice college while the modest Philo4Thought financial award has been used to help cover college application fees, SAT preparatory courses and related training/services.

AWARD NOMINATIONS
Annual submission Deadline January 7th
To be considered for this opportunity, nominated students must be actively enrolled in a high school program and recommended by a teacher. The following should be submitted to p4tinfo@gmail.com:

Nominator's Letter of Recommendation: The instructor or administrator recommending the student should prepare a letter on formal school letterhead.

Nominee's Personal Essay: 1000 words (2 pages, single space) indicating his/her personal journey, struggle, character, goals and accomplishments.

Verification of Established Academic Excellence & Community Service: A letter of support from the Principal or AP of Guidance indicating the student's GPA, community outreach, and active status as a Junior/Senior.

Under 18 Permission Slip: Students who are under 18 must include a signed school permission slip for nominee to be photographed/recorded at the award ceremony.

Additional Information: (1) The nominee's full name as it should appear on the certificate, (2) a high-resolution profile photo to be included on our list of honorees, (3) his/her email address, (4) his/her parents' names, mailing address, phone numbers and emails.

Late or incomplete applications will not be submitted to the committee for review!

Nominations ​are reviewed on an annual basis (January 15th-February 15th). The selected student's application packet is then submitted to the Attorney General's Office along with a letter from the Chair of Philo4Thought's Review Committee for final review and processing. The Triple C Award and the Philo4Thought Foundation Grant are presented at Philo4Thought's annual Spring Symposium (see our Events Page for details).

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Philo4Thought offers internship opportunities to High School Juniors/Seniors completing their required community service hours and to college students in participating schools who are eligible to complete a Fall/Spring semester internship in exchange for college credit.
