Art at Risk 2020 for christine.png

On Thursday, May 14, the Center for Executive Education at the Peter J. Tobin College of Business will be holding a conference called Art at Risk: Fortune, Fame and Fashion, which builds on the successful 2019 conference that focused primarily on fine art. This year, using panels alternating with case studies, we will discuss broad implications of collecting from pop culture, particularly as it relates to famous people and events. We will cover the "lifecycle" of either a single object or a collection, meaning acquisition, retention, and disposition, and what factors come into play in each stage. The conference is designed for new and experienced collectors, insurers, lawyers, conservators, appraisers, and collecting institutions such as museums and libraries.
